Formatting and Adjusting Prices and Numeric Values
Deviking Product Feeds Pro provides separate tools for calculating numeric values and formatting how those values appear in the generated feed.
This distinction is important.
A Numeric Modifier changes the numeric value itself.
A Number Format transform changes how the resulting number is written.
Both can be used together.
Numeric Modifier
Numeric Modifier allows a numeric source to be adjusted before the value is formatted and written to the feed.
It is available directly in feed Mapping and can also be used conditionally through Dynamic Attributes.
Available operations include:
- Add fixed amount
- Subtract fixed amount
- Increase by percentage
- Decrease by percentage
- Multiply by
- Divide by
Example: Increase a Price by 10%
Suppose the source price is:
100Configure:
Numeric Modifier:
Increase by %
Value:
10The resulting numeric value becomes:
110Example: Decrease a Price by 15%
Starting value:
100Configuration:
Numeric Modifier:
Decrease by %
Value:
15Result:
85Example: Add a Fixed Amount
Configuration:
Source:
Current Price
Numeric Modifier:
Add fixed amount
Value:
5A price of:
49.90becomes:
54.90Example: Subtract a Fixed Amount
Configuration:
Source:
Current Price
Numeric Modifier:
Subtract fixed amount
Value:
5A price of:
49.90becomes:
44.90Multiplication
You can multiply the source value by a specified number.
Example:
Source:
Current Price
Numeric Modifier:
Multiply by
Value:
1.20A value of:
100becomes:
120Division
You can also divide the source value.
Example:
Source:
Current Price
Numeric Modifier:
Divide by
Value:
1.24A value of:
124becomes:
100Numeric Modifier Processing Order
The Mapping processing sequence is:
Source
→ Fallback Source
→ Numeric Modifier
→ Transform
→ Prefix / Suffix
→ Feed OutputThis order is important.
For example:
Source:
Current Price
Numeric Modifier:
Increase by 10%
Transform:
Number Format
Decimals:
2If the original price is:
19.9the Numeric Modifier first calculates:
21.89and Number Format then controls how that result is written.
Fallback Source and Numeric Modifier
If the main Source is empty and a Fallback Source is configured, the fallback value is resolved first.
Numeric Modifier is then applied to the resolved value.
For example:
Source:
Sale Price
Fallback Source:
Regular Price
Numeric Modifier:
Decrease by 5%If Sale Price is empty, Regular Price becomes the input for the calculation.
Number Format
The Number Format transform controls the display format of numeric values.
Available settings include:
- 0–8 decimal places
- Decimal separator: dot or comma
- Thousands separator:
- None
- Dot
- Comma
- Space
- Remove trailing zeros
- Live preview
Example: Two Decimal Places
Original value:
129.5With:
Decimals:
2the output becomes:
129.50Example: European Number Format
Configure:
Decimals:
2
Decimal separator:
Comma
Thousands separator:
DotA value of:
1234.5can be output as:
1.234,50Example: Space Thousands Separator
Configure:
Decimals:
2
Decimal separator:
Dot
Thousands separator:
SpaceResult:
1 234.50Removing Trailing Zeros
When Remove trailing zeros is enabled, unnecessary decimal zeros are removed.
For example:
19.00can become:
19while:
19.50can remain:
19.5depending on the configured format.
Price Sources
Deviking Product Feeds Pro includes standard WooCommerce price sources:
- Regular Price
- Sale Price
- Current Price
- Currency
It also provides tax-aware WooCommerce price sources.
Prices Including Tax
- Regular Price incl. tax
- Sale Price incl. tax
- Current Price incl. tax
Prices Excluding Tax
- Regular Price excl. tax
- Sale Price excl. tax
- Current Price excl. tax
These tax-aware values use WooCommerce tax calculations.
You do not need to manually add or remove a fixed VAT percentage when the required WooCommerce tax-aware source is available.
Tax-Aware Price Example
Suppose a marketplace requires a tax-inclusive current price.
Choose:
Source:
Current Price incl. taxYou can then apply Number Format:
Decimals:
2
Decimal separator:
Dot
Thousands separator:
NoneThe WooCommerce-calculated tax-inclusive amount is formatted according to the feed requirements.
Adjusting a Tax-Aware Price
Numeric Modifier can also be applied to tax-aware sources.
Example:
Source:
Current Price incl. tax
Numeric Modifier:
Decrease by %
Value:
10
Transform:
Number Format
Decimals:
2The system first retrieves the WooCommerce tax-inclusive price, applies the 10% reduction, and then formats the result.
Adding Currency to the Output
Currency can be added using Prefix or Suffix when required by the destination feed.
For example:
Suffix:
{{source:currency}}Depending on the currency source, the final result could become:
89.90 EURUse this only when the destination feed expects the currency inside the same field.
Some marketplaces require price and currency in separate fields.
Numeric Modifier vs Number Format
These two features serve different purposes.
Numeric Modifier
Changes the actual value.
Example:
100
→ decrease by 10%
→ 90Number Format
Changes how that value is displayed.
Example:
90
→ 2 decimals
→ 90.00Together:
100
→ decrease by 10%
→ 90
→ format to 2 decimals
→ 90.00Global vs Conditional Numeric Adjustments
Use the Numeric Modifier directly in Mapping when the same calculation should apply to every product.
Example:
Every product:
Current Price + 5%Use a Dynamic Attribute when the calculation should depend on product conditions.
Example:
Shoes → -10%
Accessories → -5%
Everything else → unchangedOne Transform per Mapping Row
Each mapping row uses one Transform.
For example, a row can use:
Number Formatas its Transform.
Numeric Modifier is separate from Transform, so you can use both together.
For example:
Current Price
→ Decrease by 10%
→ Number Format
→ 2 decimal placesThis allows calculation and output formatting to remain independent.
Example: Complete Marketplace Price Configuration
Suppose a marketplace requires:
- WooCommerce current price including tax
- 8% markup
- two decimal places
- dot decimal separator
- currency appended to the value
Configure:
Source:
Current Price incl. tax
Numeric Modifier:
Increase by %
Value:
8
Transform:
Number Format
Decimals:
2
Decimal separator:
Dot
Thousands separator:
None
Suffix:
{{source:currency}}The processing sequence is:
WooCommerce tax-aware price
→ 8% increase
→ numeric formatting
→ currency suffix
→ final feed valueBest Practices
Use WooCommerce tax-aware price sources instead of manually calculating VAT whenever possible.
Use Numeric Modifier only for actual numeric changes.
Use Number Format only for presentation and destination-feed formatting.
Use Dynamic Attributes when the numeric change depends on product conditions.
Keep price calculations separate from product data whenever possible so your WooCommerce catalog remains unchanged.
Always check the requirements of the destination platform before deciding whether the feed should contain:
- price including tax,
- price excluding tax,
- currency in the same field,
- currency in a separate field,
- decimal dots,
- decimal commas,
- or a specific number of decimal places.
