How to Manage Your Product Feeds

The Feeds page gives you a central overview of all product feeds created with Deviking Product Feeds Pro.

From this screen, you can review each feed’s current status, generate a fresh file, duplicate an existing configuration, export its settings, open the generated feed, edit it or delete it.

To access the feed manager, go to:

Deviking Feeds → Feeds

Feeds Overview

Every feed appears as a separate row in the feeds table.

The table provides useful information about the most recent generation without requiring you to open the feed editor.

The following information is displayed for each feed.

Feed

Displays the name assigned to the feed.

Click the feed name to open its configuration.

When you move the cursor over the feed name, the available management actions appear underneath it.

Type

Shows the output format of the feed.

Deviking Product Feeds currently supports:

  • XML
  • CSV

The format is displayed as a badge for quick identification.

Products

Shows how many product records were written during the most recent successful generation.

For example:

12,450

For feeds containing variations, the number represents the actual records written to the feed and may therefore differ from the number of parent products in WooCommerce.

Size

Shows the total size of the generated feed file.

For example:

4.8 MB

This is useful when monitoring large catalogs or feeds that are supplied to external services with file-size limits.

For split feeds, the generation process may create multiple output files depending on the feed configuration.

Duration

Shows how long the previous feed generation took.

For example:

8.436 s

This can be useful when comparing feed configurations or monitoring performance on large WooCommerce catalogs.

Updated

Displays the date and time of the most recent feed generation.

If the feed has not yet been generated, this field may remain empty.

Schedule

Shows the automatic generation schedule currently assigned to the feed.

Possible schedules include:

  • Manual
  • Every 5 minutes
  • Every 15 minutes
  • Every 30 minutes
  • Hourly
  • Every 6 hours
  • Every 12 hours
  • Daily
  • Weekly

Each feed has its own schedule.

This means you can update frequently changing feeds more often while keeping less important feeds on a longer interval.

Status

The Status column shows the current state of the feed.

If the latest generation encountered an error, the error information may also appear underneath the status so you can identify the problem without opening the feed editor.

For more detailed information, you can also review:

Deviking Feeds → Logs

Feed Actions

Move the cursor over a feed name to display the available actions.

These actions allow you to manage the feed directly from the list.

Edit

Click:

Edit

to open the complete feed editor.

From there you can modify settings such as:

  • General settings
  • Feed Template
  • product scope
  • Attribute Mapping
  • XML or CSV output settings
  • filters
  • storage
  • schedule
  • remote destinations
  • language settings
  • split-feed settings

After making changes, remember that Generate Feed uses the last saved configuration.

Use Save & Generate when you want to save the changes and immediately rebuild the feed.

Generate

Click:

Generate

to immediately regenerate the feed using its currently saved configuration.

This is useful when product information has changed and you do not want to wait for the next scheduled generation.

For example, you may manually regenerate a feed after:

  • updating product prices;
  • changing stock;
  • importing products;
  • updating product attributes;
  • modifying categories.

Generate uses the saved feed settings. Unsaved changes in the editor are not included until the feed has been saved.

Duplicate

Click:

Duplicate

to create a copy of an existing feed configuration.

Duplication is particularly useful when two feeds share similar settings.

For example, instead of building another feed from scratch, you can duplicate one and then change:

  • its name;
  • template;
  • mapping;
  • filters;
  • filename;
  • schedule;
  • destination.

This can save significant setup time when creating multiple feeds from the same WooCommerce catalog.

Export Configuration

Click:

Export Configuration

to download the feed’s configuration.

The exported configuration contains the feed settings and can be used as a backup or imported again through the Deviking Product Feeds tools.

This is useful before:

  • making major changes;
  • deleting a feed;
  • migrating a configuration;
  • reproducing a similar setup elsewhere.

The configuration export contains the feed setup, not the WooCommerce products themselves.

Sensitive remote-destination passwords are not included in exported configuration data.

Open

The Open action becomes available after a feed file has successfully been generated.

Click:

Open

to open the current feed file in a new browser tab.

This allows you to inspect the actual XML or CSV output being supplied to the external destination.

For example, you can use it to check:

  • whether the file is accessible;
  • whether recent products are present;
  • the XML structure;
  • mapped values;
  • prices;
  • stock information;
  • categories.

The same public feed URL can normally be supplied to a marketplace, advertising platform or other service that retrieves feeds from a URL.

Delete

Click:

Delete

to remove a feed.

A confirmation message appears before the deletion is performed.

Deleting a feed removes its Product Feeds configuration, so make sure you no longer need it.

If you may want to restore the configuration later, use:

Export Configuration

before deleting it.

Add a New Feed

To create another feed, click:

Add New Feed

at the top of the Feeds page.

You can also access the same editor directly from:

Deviking Feeds → Add New Feed

From there, choose a template or create a custom XML or CSV feed.

Manual Generation vs Automatic Generation

There are two ways to keep a feed updated.

Manual Generation

Use the Generate action whenever you want to rebuild a feed immediately.

This works regardless of the configured automatic schedule.

Automatic Generation

Choose a schedule inside the feed configuration.

WordPress will then regenerate the feed when the scheduled event becomes due.

For reliable scheduling, WordPress WP-Cron or an equivalent server-side cron configuration must be working correctly.

Monitoring Feed Performance

The Feeds page also gives you a quick overview of generation performance through the:

  • Products
  • Size
  • Duration
  • Updated
  • Status

columns.

For a more detailed overview of feed health, open:

Deviking Feeds → Dashboard

The Dashboard includes information such as:

  • Active Feeds
  • Products Exported
  • Feed Errors
  • Last Generation
  • Recent Feeds
  • Feed Health

For each feed, the Feed Health section can also show information such as:

  • last generation time;
  • number of records;
  • file size;
  • generation duration;
  • next scheduled run;
  • health status.

When a Feed Shows an Error

If a feed fails to generate, first check the error shown in the Status column.

Then open:

Deviking Feeds → Logs

Common causes can include:

  • invalid feed configuration;
  • inaccessible storage location;
  • malformed custom XML configuration;
  • unavailable WooCommerce data;
  • server resource limits;
  • remote destination connection problems.

Remember that a remote upload failure does not necessarily mean the local feed generation failed. Product Feeds generates the local file first and performs remote delivery afterward.

Recommended Workflow

A practical way to manage feeds is:

Feeds → Edit → Save & Generate → Open → Validate

For an existing feed that only needs fresh product data:

Feeds → Generate → Open

For creating a similar feed:

Feeds → Duplicate → Edit → Save & Generate

For safely removing a feed:

Export Configuration → Delete

This keeps feed management fast while preserving the ability to back up or reuse complex configurations.
