Using Product IDs to Control Feed Contents
Deviking Product Feeds Pro lets you include or exclude specific WooCommerce products by their Product IDs.
This is useful when you want to manually remove a small number of products from a feed without creating more complex filtering rules, or when you want a feed to contain only a predefined list of products.
Product ID filtering is available through the feed’s Quick Include / Exclude filters. These quick filters are evaluated before Advanced Filter Groups.
Open the Product Filters
Go to:
Deviking Feeds → Feeds
Edit the feed you want to modify and open the Filters section.
The Quick Filters include:
Include Product IDs
Exclude Product IDsExclude Specific Products
Use Exclude Product IDs when you want to keep the normal feed catalog but remove selected products.
For example:
Exclude Product IDs:
125
248
510Products with those IDs are removed from the feed.
All other products continue through the remaining feed filters.
The Exclude Product IDs field removes matching product IDs and also recognizes parent IDs when variations are involved.
Example
Suppose your WooCommerce catalog contains:
125 Running Shoes
126 Hiking Shoes
248 Test Product
300 Backpack
510 Discontinued JacketConfigure:
Exclude Product IDs:
248, 510The generated feed can contain:
125 Running Shoes
126 Hiking Shoes
300 Backpackwhile:
248 Test Product
510 Discontinued Jacketare excluded.
Entering Multiple Product IDs
Multiple values can be entered using:
- commas;
- pipes;
- new lines.
For example, all of the following formats can be used:
125, 248, 510or:
125 | 248 | 510or:
125
248
510This makes it easy to paste lists of WooCommerce Product IDs directly into the filter.
Include Only Specific Products
The opposite option is Include Product IDs.
Use it when the feed should contain only a selected list of products.
For example:
Include Product IDs:
125, 126, 300Only those matching products remain eligible for export.
This can be useful for:
- small promotional feeds;
- selected marketplace catalogs;
- distributor-specific exports;
- test feeds;
- manually curated product collections.
Include vs Exclude
The difference is simple:
| Filter | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Include Product IDs | Only the listed IDs remain eligible |
| Exclude Product IDs | The listed IDs are removed |
For example:
Include Product IDs:
100, 101, 102means:
Only 100, 101 and 102 can appearwhile:
Exclude Product IDs:
100, 101, 102means:
Everything except 100, 101 and 102 can appearVariable Products and Parent IDs
Product ID filtering is variation-aware.
When filtering variation records, Deviking Product Feeds can also recognize the parent variable product ID.
Consider this variable product:
Product ID 500
T-Shirt
├── Variation 501 — Black / Small
├── Variation 502 — Black / Medium
└── Variation 503 — White / SmallIf the feed exports variations and you exclude:
Exclude Product IDs:
500the parent ID can be used when determining whether its variation records are eligible.
This avoids having to maintain a separate list containing every variation ID when your intention is to target the whole variable product.
Excluding Only One Variation
If you want to remove only one individual variation rather than the whole variable product, use the specific variation ID where appropriate.
For example:
500 T-Shirt
501 Black / Small
502 Black / Medium
503 White / SmallTo target:
Black / Mediumuse its variation ID:
502rather than the parent ID.
This is especially useful when a feed uses:
Variations onlyor another Product & Variation Mode that exports variations as individual records.
Product ID Filters and Product & Variation Mode
The Product & Variation Mode determines which WooCommerce object types are eligible for the feed.
Product ID filters then narrow that selection.
For example:
Product & Variation Mode:
Variations only
Exclude Product IDs:
500uses the variation mode to select variation records and the Product ID filter to remove records related to the targeted product ID.
For predictable results, configure product structure first and filtering second:
Product & Variation Mode
→ Quick Filters
→ Advanced Filter GroupsQuick Filters are evaluated before the Advanced Filter Groups.
Combine Product IDs with Other Filters
Product ID filtering can be used together with category, SKU, and Advanced Filters.
For example:
Include Category IDs:
24, 31and:
Exclude Product IDs:
248, 510with an Advanced Exclude Group:
Stock Status = outofstockThe feed can therefore:
- start with products from selected categories;
- remove specific Product IDs;
- remove products matching the advanced stock rule.
This is useful when most of the feed can be defined automatically but a few exceptions need to be controlled manually.
Product IDs vs SKUs
Product IDs and SKUs are separate identifiers.
A WooCommerce product might have:
Product ID:
125
SKU:
SHOE-BLK-42If you already maintain your catalog using SKUs, Deviking Product Feeds also provides:
Include SKUs
Exclude SKUsalongside the Product ID filters.
Use Product IDs when you want to target WordPress/WooCommerce records directly.
Use SKUs when your catalog or external systems are organized around SKU values.
Product ID Filters Are Feed-Specific
Filters belong to the individual feed.
This means the same product can be excluded from one feed while remaining available in another.
For example:
Google Feed
Exclude Product IDs:
125while:
Distributor Feed
Exclude Product IDs:
248The WooCommerce products themselves are not modified.
Only the generated feed contents change.
Example: Removing Test Products
Suppose several internal products should never be exported:
Product ID 1201 — Internal Test Product
Product ID 1208 — Demo Product
Product ID 1310 — Packaging SampleConfigure:
Exclude Product IDs:
1201, 1208, 1310You can still keep all other feed settings unchanged.
This is often simpler than building an Advanced Filter Group when you already know the exact products that need to be removed.
Preview the Result
After changing the Product ID filters:
- Save the feed.
- Run Preview.
- Search the preview for one of the excluded products.
- Confirm that the required products remain.
- Run Validate Feed.
- Use Save & Generate to rebuild the final file.
If an excluded product is still present, check whether you entered the parent ID or variation ID and confirm the feed’s Product & Variation Mode.
Recommended Use
Use Exclude Product IDs when you have a normal feed configuration but need to manually remove a few known products:
Exclude Product IDs:
125, 248, 510Use Include Product IDs when the feed should contain only a manually selected catalog:
Include Product IDs:
125, 126, 300For rules based on changing product properties such as stock, price, brand, attributes, or custom fields, use Advanced Filter Groups instead.
