Disable

Disable keeps the field, its key, conditions, output settings, and shortcodes, but prevents it from appearing at checkout.

Delete

Delete removes a custom field definition from the active configuration after Save.

Existing order data

Deleting a field does not rewrite older orders. Values already stored in historical orders remain part of those orders.
