How Direct Carrier Tracking Works

Deviking Order Tracking uses direct carrier URLs rather than a shipment-status API.

Each carrier stores a URL such as:

https://carrier.example/track?number={tracking_number}

When the order contains tracking number 123456789, the plugin replaces the placeholder and creates the final link automatically.

What happens when a customer clicks Track Shipment?

1. The plugin loads the carrier assigned to the tracking entry.
2. It reads that carrier’s Direct Tracking URL.
3. Supported placeholders are replaced with values from the tracking entry or WooCommerce order.
4. The customer is sent to the carrier website.

What the plugin does not do

The plugin does not fetch live events such as In Transit, Out for Delivery, or Delivered. Those results are displayed by the carrier after the customer follows the link.
