Deviking Post Expiration

Post Expiration Admin Menu Overview

Dedicated plugin menu

Deviking Post Expiration uses its own top-level Post Expiration menu in the WordPress administration area. The settings are therefore available directly from the main menu instead of being placed under the generic WordPress Settings section.

Available settings

The settings page contains four main configuration areas:

  • Enable for — choose which public post types can use expiration.
  • Default expiration action — choose the action selected by default for newly configured expirations.
  • Default expiration time — choose the time suggested when you create a new expiration schedule.
  • Uninstall — choose whether plugin settings and expiration metadata should be removed when the plugin is uninstalled.

Global settings versus individual content settings

The global settings act as defaults and availability controls. They do not automatically add expiration to existing content. Each Post, Page, or supported Custom Post Type must have expiration enabled individually unless you apply a change through Bulk Edit.

This separation is intentional. It prevents the plugin from unexpectedly expiring content simply because a post type was enabled globally.
