Redirect Expired Content to an Existing Post or Page

Use Existing content

The Redirect settings area includes an Existing content selector. It lists published items from the post types currently enabled in Deviking Post Expiration.

Select a destination

1. Choose Redirect visitors as the expiration action.
2. Leave Custom URL empty if you want to use an internal content destination.
3. Select the required item under Existing content.
4. Save the content.

How the URL is resolved

After expiration, if no Custom URL is stored and an Existing content target is selected, the plugin gets the permalink for the selected target and redirects the visitor there.

Important

The selected destination should remain published and accessible. If the target is deleted or no longer has a usable permalink, the redirect may not have a valid destination.
