Deviking Post Expiration

What Happens When You Schedule a Past Expiration Date

Past timestamps are processed immediately

When Deviking Post Expiration saves a valid expiration timestamp, it checks whether that timestamp is already in the past.

If the expiration time has already passed, the plugin does not schedule a future WordPress event. Instead, it processes the expiration action immediately.

Examples

  • If the action is Move to Draft, the item can become Draft as soon as the settings are saved.
  • If the action is Set as Private, the item can become Private immediately.
  • If the action is Move to Trash, the item can be sent to Trash immediately.
  • If the action is Redirect visitors, the item is marked as expired and frontend redirect behavior becomes active.

Recommendation

When editing an existing schedule, double-check both the date and the time before saving. A correct-looking date with an earlier time on the same day may already be considered expired.
