Deviking Post Expiration

Delete Plugin Data on Uninstall

Uninstall cleanup option

The Uninstall setting includes an option to delete Deviking Post Expiration settings and post metadata when the plugin is uninstalled.

When cleanup is enabled

If the option is enabled and you uninstall the plugin, the uninstall routine removes plugin-specific configuration and expiration metadata stored on content items.

When cleanup is disabled

If the option is not enabled, plugin data can remain in WordPress after uninstall. This can be useful when you expect to reinstall the plugin and want to preserve existing configuration.

Before uninstalling

  • Review active expiration schedules.
  • Decide whether you need to preserve expiration metadata.
  • Create a current website backup.
  • Confirm the uninstall cleanup setting before removing the plugin.

Uninstalling a plugin is different from simply deactivating it. Deactivation does not run the uninstall cleanup process.
