WordPress Timezone and Expiration Scheduling

Which timezone does the plugin use?

Deviking Post Expiration uses the timezone configured in WordPress. It does not use the browser timezone or assume a fixed UTC offset.

Check your WordPress timezone

1. Go to Settings → General.
2. Find the Timezone setting.
3. Confirm that it matches the timezone you expect the website to use.
4. Save any changes before creating or updating expiration schedules.

Example

If WordPress uses the Europe/Athens timezone and you schedule expiration for 20:00, the plugin treats that as 20:00 in the WordPress site timezone.

Why this matters

An incorrect WordPress timezone can make scheduled content appear to expire too early or too late. If several expiration schedules seem offset by the same amount of time, check the WordPress timezone before changing individual schedules.

After correcting the timezone, review existing expiration schedules and save them again when necessary so that their intended local time remains correct.
