Who Can Access the Post Expiration Settings Page
Required capability
The dedicated Post Expiration settings page requires the WordPress manage_options capability. On a standard WordPress installation, this is normally available to Administrators.
Editing individual content
Saving expiration settings on a content item also requires the user to have permission to edit that item. The plugin checks the standard WordPress edit capability before processing expiration data.
Why capability checks matter
Expiration actions can change public content status, send items to Trash, or redirect visitors. Restricting settings to users with the appropriate WordPress capabilities helps prevent unauthorized configuration changes.
If a custom role cannot access the global settings page, review that role’s WordPress capabilities rather than modifying plugin files.
