What Set as Private does

At expiration, the plugin changes the WordPress post status to Private.

Difference between Draft and Private

Draft content is unpublished editorial content. Private content uses WordPress’s Private status and can remain viewable to users with the appropriate permissions.

When to use Private

• Internal reference material
• Content that should remain available to administrators
• Pages that should stop being publicly accessible without being moved back into a normal draft workflow

Permissions

Visibility of Private content follows normal WordPress permissions. Deviking Post Expiration does not create a separate private-content permission system.
