Duplicate or Old Scheduled Expiration Events
Automatic unscheduling
Before the plugin schedules a new expiration event for an item, it checks for existing scheduled events using the same expiration hook and post ID.
Old events are removed
The plugin unschedules matching events before creating the updated schedule. It repeats the check until no matching event remains.
When expiration is disabled
Disabling expiration also triggers unscheduling for that item.
If a cron-inspection tool still shows stale events
Confirm that you are looking at the current post ID and the correct hook. If third-party tools or database changes have created unusual cron entries, test by saving the expiration schedule again and verify normal WordPress cron behavior.
