Understanding Devices and Print Agents
Deviking Order Autoprint uses the Deviking Print Agent to connect WooCommerce with printers installed on Windows computers.
A Device represents one Windows computer that has been paired with your WooCommerce store.
A single Device can report one or more printers.
What Is the Deviking Print Agent?
The Deviking Print Agent is a Windows application that runs locally on the computer connected to your printers.
Its main tasks are to:
- Connect securely to your WooCommerce store
- Report the printers installed in Windows
- Check for new print jobs
- Send print jobs to the selected printer
- Report the result back to WooCommerce
- Keep the connection active in the background
The Agent communicates with WooCommerce using outbound HTTPS connections.
What Is a Device?
When a Print Agent is paired with a WooCommerce site, the computer appears under:
Deviking Order Autoprint → Devices
That entry is called a Device.
A Device can show information such as:
- Device name
- Online / Offline status
- Agent version
- Operating system
- Last connection
- Last IP
- Detected printers
- Printer status
One Device Can Have Multiple Printers
A single Windows computer can have several printers installed.
For example:
Warehouse PC
- HP LaserJet
- 80mm Thermal Printer
- Zebra Label Printer
All of these printers can be reported by the same Agent and used in different Print Rules.
One Store Can Have Multiple Devices
The same WooCommerce store can connect to multiple Windows computers.
For example:
Office PC
- A4 Printer
Warehouse PC
- Packing Printer
- Label Printer
Kitchen PC
- 80mm Thermal Printer
Each computer runs its own Print Agent and appears as a separate Device.
One Agent Can Connect to Multiple WooCommerce Sites
The same Windows Print Agent can also connect to more than one licensed WooCommerce store.
For example:
Deviking Print Agent
- shop1.com
- shop2.com
- shop3.com
Each website has its own independent pairing and secure credentials.
This is useful when the same physical location handles orders from multiple WooCommerce stores.
Each WooCommerce site requires its own valid Deviking Order Autoprint license.
Device Authentication
Each paired site connection uses its own secure Device ID and authentication token.
The user does not need to enter WordPress administrator credentials into the Agent.
After pairing, the Agent stores the connection information locally and reconnects automatically.
Device Status
A Device can appear as:
Online
The Agent is currently communicating with WooCommerce.
Offline
The Agent has not contacted the website recently.
Revoked
The Device credentials have been disabled by an administrator.
Other indicators may also appear, such as an available Agent update.
Removing or Revoking Devices
Devices can be managed from the WordPress administration area.
Depending on what you want to do, you can:
- Rename a Device
- Revoke its access
- Remove it from the active Device list
Revoking access prevents the Agent from authenticating with the WooCommerce site until it is paired again.
Device and Printer Relationship
Print Rules target a specific:
Device → Printer
This is important because two different computers may have printers with similar names.
The Device identifies the computer, and the Printer identifies the exact Windows printer that should receive the job.
