Selecting the Device and Printer
Each Print Rule must specify the Windows Device and printer that should receive the print job.
The Device identifies the computer running the Deviking Print Agent, while the Printer identifies the exact Windows printer connected to that Device.
1. Open the Print Rule
In your WordPress dashboard, go to:
Deviking Order Autoprint → Print Rules
Edit the rule you want to configure.
2. Select the Device
Choose the Windows computer that should receive the print job.
For example:
Device: Warehouse PC
Only Devices already paired with the WooCommerce site are available for selection.
3. Select the Printer
After selecting the Device, choose one of the printers reported by that Agent.
For example:
Printer: Warehouse A4 Printer
The printer list belongs to the selected Device.
4. Device and Printer Work Together
A printing destination is always identified as:
Device → Printer
For example:
Warehouse PC → HP LaserJet
or:
Kitchen PC → 80mm Thermal Printer
This prevents confusion if several computers have printers with similar names.
5. Printer Must Be Available in Windows
The selected printer must already be installed and available on the Windows computer.
If the printer does not appear:
- Check that it is installed in Windows
- Confirm that the Agent detects it
- Make sure the Device is Online
- Allow time for the printer list to refresh
6. Multiple Devices
If your WooCommerce store has several connected Agents, each Device can have its own printers.
For example:
Office PC
- Office A4 Printer
Warehouse PC
- Packing Printer
- Label Printer
Kitchen PC
- 80mm Thermal Printer
You can route different Print Rules to different Devices.
7. Multiple Printers on the Same Device
A single Agent can report several printers.
For example:
Warehouse PC
- A4 Printer
- 80mm Thermal Printer
- Label Printer
Different rules can use different printers on the same Device.
8. Changing the Destination
You can change the selected Device or Printer at any time.
New print jobs created after saving the rule will use the new destination.
Existing Print Jobs keep the destination assigned when they were created unless they are manually reassigned.
9. Device Availability
For reliable automatic printing, the selected Device should normally be:
Online
If the Agent is offline, it cannot retrieve new print jobs until it reconnects.
For important workflows, you can also configure a fallback destination.
10. Test the Destination
After selecting the Device and Printer, run a test print.
Confirm that:
- The correct Device receives the job
- The correct printer is used
- The document prints successfully
- The selected paper format matches the printer
