Deviking Order Autoprint

Choosing the Order Status Trigger

The Order Status Trigger determines when Deviking Order Autoprint should evaluate a WooCommerce order for automatic printing.

When an order reaches the selected status, the plugin checks whether the order also matches the other conditions configured in the Print Rule.

1. Open the Print Rule

In your WordPress dashboard, go to:

Deviking Order Autoprint → Print Rules

Edit the rule you want to configure.

2. Select the Trigger Status

Choose the WooCommerce order status that should trigger the rule.

Common examples include:

  • Pending payment
  • Processing
  • On hold
  • Completed
  • Cancelled
  • Refunded
  • Failed

The exact statuses available depend on your WooCommerce installation and any plugins that add custom order statuses.

3. Processing

Processing is commonly used for orders that have been paid or accepted and are ready to be prepared.

Example:

Trigger: Processing
Template: Packing List
Printer: Warehouse A4 Printer

When the order reaches Processing, the rule can create a print job.

4. On Hold

On hold can be useful when an order requires manual review or payment confirmation before progressing.

For example, you may want a specific document printed for orders waiting for verification.

5. Completed

Completed can be used for workflows that happen after fulfillment.

For example:

  • Final internal documents
  • Archived order copies
  • Post-fulfillment paperwork

6. Other Statuses

You can also create rules for other statuses if they are useful to your workflow.

For example:

Cancelled
Print a cancellation notice.

Refunded
Print an internal refund record.

Failed
Print an alert or internal document for failed orders.

7. Custom WooCommerce Statuses

If another plugin adds custom WooCommerce order statuses, they may also be available as trigger options.

This allows Deviking Order Autoprint to work with more advanced order workflows.

8. The Trigger Is Only the First Check

Reaching the selected order status does not always mean the order will print.

After the trigger is detected, the rule can also check conditions such as:

  • Payment method
  • Shipping method
  • Product category
  • Shipping country
  • Shipping state / region
  • Minimum order total
  • Maximum order total

The print job is created only if the order matches the complete rule configuration.

9. Multiple Rules Can Use the Same Status

You can create several Print Rules using the same order status.

For example:

Rule 1
Processing + Food category → Kitchen Printer

Rule 2
Processing + Greece → Warehouse Printer

Rule 3
Processing + Cash on Delivery → Office Printer

Each rule is evaluated independently.

10. Choose the Status That Matches Your Workflow

The best trigger depends on when you want printing to happen.

For example:

  • Print immediately after order acceptance → Processing
  • Print only after fulfillment → Completed
  • Print during manual review → On hold

Choose the status that corresponds to the real point in your order workflow when the document should be printed.
