Agent Logs and Troubleshooting Information

The Deviking Print Agent keeps local activity logs that can help diagnose connection, pairing, update and printing problems.

1. Open the Logs Folder

Open the Deviking Print Agent and click:

Open logs folder

This opens the Windows folder where the Agent stores its log files.

2. What the Logs Contain

The logs may include information about:

  • Agent startup
  • WooCommerce site connections
  • Pairing attempts
  • Heartbeat communication
  • Printer detection
  • Print job processing
  • Failed print jobs
  • Connection errors
  • Reconnection attempts
  • Agent update checks
  • Update download or verification errors

3. Daily Log Files

The Agent writes logs on a daily basis.

This makes it easier to locate events from a specific day when troubleshooting a problem.

Older logs are automatically cleaned up after the configured retention period.

4. Activity Panel

The Agent also shows recent events directly inside the application under:

Activity

This is useful for quickly checking what is happening without opening the full log folder.

For example, you may see messages related to:

  • Site connected
  • Site offline
  • Printer detected
  • Job received
  • Job printed
  • Job failed
  • Update check failed

5. Troubleshooting a Connection Problem

If a site appears Offline, check the Activity panel or logs for connection errors.

Also verify:

  • The Windows computer has internet access
  • The WooCommerce website is available
  • The correct Site URL is configured
  • The Agent is still paired with the site
  • The Device has not been revoked
  • HTTPS is working correctly

6. Troubleshooting a Printer Problem

If a job reaches the Agent but does not print, check:

  • The printer is powered on
  • Windows shows the printer as available
  • The printer is not paused
  • The printer driver is working
  • The selected printer still exists in Windows
  • The correct printer is assigned to the Print Rule or manual job

The Agent log may include the Windows printing error returned during the failed attempt.

7. Troubleshooting a Failed Job

If a Print Job fails:

  1. Open Deviking Order Autoprint → Print Jobs
  2. Find the failed job
  3. Review the associated Device and Printer
  4. Check the Agent Activity or logs
  5. Fix the printer or connection issue
  6. Retry the job if appropriate

8. Troubleshooting Pairing

If pairing fails, verify:

  • The pairing code has not expired
  • The Site URL is correct
  • The plugin license is active
  • The WooCommerce website is reachable
  • The Agent has internet access
  • The Device has not already been paired with the same site

If necessary, generate a new pairing code and try again.

9. Information Useful for Support

When contacting support about an Agent issue, it is useful to provide:
