Deviking Order Autoprint

Selecting Paper Size and Orientation

Each Print Rule can use its own paper format and page orientation.

These settings control how the document is generated before it is sent to the selected printer.

1. Available Paper Formats

Deviking Order Autoprint supports:

  • A4
  • A5
  • 80mm Thermal
  • 58mm Thermal

Choose the format that matches the printer and the type of document you want to produce.

2. Selecting the Paper Format

Open:

Deviking Order Autoprint → Print Rules

Edit the rule you want to configure.

Select the appropriate:

Paper Format

For example:

  • Standard office printer → A4
  • Smaller page printer → A5
  • Standard receipt printer → 80mm Thermal
  • Compact receipt printer → 58mm Thermal

3. Orientation

For standard page formats, you can choose the page orientation.

Typical options include:

  • Portrait
  • Landscape

Portrait

Portrait is usually suitable for:

  • Standard orders
  • Packing lists
  • Delivery notes
  • Receipts
  • General order documents

Landscape

Landscape can be useful when the document contains:

  • Wider product tables
  • Additional columns
  • Long SKU values
  • More horizontal information

4. Thermal Printers

Orientation is mainly relevant to standard page formats such as A4 and A5.

Thermal printers use a fixed narrow paper width, so the important setting is normally the selected thermal paper size:

  • 80mm
  • 58mm

5. Match the Physical Paper

The selected format should match the paper loaded in the printer.

For example:

A4 Rule → A4 paper

Using a different physical paper size may cause the Windows printer driver to scale or crop the document.

6. Windows Printer Preferences

Windows printer settings can also affect the final result.

Make sure the printer driver is configured for the correct:

  • Paper size
  • Orientation
  • Printable area

If Windows and Deviking Order Autoprint use conflicting settings, the printer driver may resize the document.

7. Different Rules Can Use Different Formats

Paper settings are stored per Print Rule.

For example:

Warehouse Packing List

  • A4
  • Portrait

Office Delivery Note

  • A5
  • Portrait

Kitchen Ticket

  • 80mm Thermal

Compact Receipt

  • 58mm Thermal

This allows different printing workflows to use the most suitable format.

8. Test the Result

After changing paper size or orientation, run a test print and verify:

  • The document uses the expected size
  • No content is clipped
  • Tables fit correctly
  • Text is readable
  • Margins are appropriate

If necessary, adjust the Print Rule before using it for automatic printing.
