Running the Agent in the Background

The Deviking Print Agent is designed to continue working even when its main window is not open.

This allows automatic printing to run without keeping the application visible on the desktop.

1. Minimize the Agent

When you minimize the Deviking Print Agent, it continues running in the background.

The Agent remains connected to the configured WooCommerce sites and continues checking for new print jobs.

2. System Tray Operation

While running in the background, the Agent is available from the Windows system tray.

From the tray menu you can:

• Open the Agent
• Check for updates
• Open the logs folder
• Exit the Agent

3. Closing the Main Window

Closing the visible Agent window does not necessarily stop background operation.

The Agent can remain active in the system tray so that automatic printing continues.

To completely stop the Agent, use:

System Tray → Exit

4. Automatic Reconnection

If the internet connection or WooCommerce site becomes temporarily unavailable, the Agent automatically tries to reconnect.

Reconnection attempts use increasing delays to avoid unnecessary network traffic while still restoring the connection automatically.

Once the site becomes available again, normal print job processing resumes.

5. Multiple Sites Continue Running

If the Agent is connected to multiple WooCommerce sites, each connection continues running independently in the background.

A temporary problem with one site does not stop the Agent from communicating with the others.

6. Printing While the Window Is Hidden

The Agent does not need to be visible for printing.

As long as:

• The Agent is running
• The Device is connected
• The printer is available in Windows
• The computer has internet access

print jobs can continue to be processed normally.

7. Recommended Setup

For computers used for automatic printing, the recommended setup is:

• Enable Start with Windows
• Allow the Agent to run in the system tray
• Keep the computer powered on during operating hours
• Avoid manually exiting the Agent unless required

This provides the most reliable unattended printing setup.
