Troubleshooting Rules That Do Not Trigger
If a Print Rule does not create a print job when expected, check the rule configuration and the order data step by step.
1. Confirm the Rule Is Enabled
Go to:
Deviking Order Autoprint → Print Rules
Make sure the rule is enabled.
A disabled rule remains saved but does not create automatic print jobs.
2. Check the Order Status Trigger
Open the rule and verify the selected:
Order Status Trigger
The order must reach the configured WooCommerce status before the rule is evaluated.
For example:
Trigger: Processing
If the order remains Pending payment, On hold, or another status, the rule will not trigger.
3. Confirm the Status Actually Changed
Automatic rules are evaluated when the relevant order status event occurs.
If you are testing with an existing order, make sure the order actually changes into the configured status.
Simply opening or saving the order without the expected status change may not trigger the rule.
4. Review All Rule Conditions
If the rule uses additional conditions, the order must match them.
Check:
- Payment method
- Shipping method
- Product category
- Shipping country
- Shipping state / region
- Minimum order total
- Maximum order total
A mismatch in any configured condition can prevent the rule from creating a print job.
5. Check the Payment Method
If the rule filters by Payment Method, verify the actual payment method stored on the WooCommerce order.
The displayed gateway name may differ from what you expect if the payment gateway has been renamed or replaced.
6. Check the Shipping Method
If the rule uses Shipping Method, confirm the order actually uses the selected method.
This is especially important with:
- Courier plugins
- Custom shipping methods
- Local Pickup
- Free Shipping
- Third-party shipping integrations
7. Check Product Categories
If the rule filters by Product Category, make sure the order contains a product assigned to the selected WooCommerce category.
Also review parent and child category assignments if your catalog uses nested categories.
8. Check Country and Region
If the rule uses:
Shipping Country
or:
Shipping State / Region
verify the shipping address on the order.
The rule uses the shipping destination, not necessarily the billing address.
9. Check Order Total Conditions
If Minimum or Maximum Order Total is configured, verify that the order falls inside the allowed range.
For example:
Minimum: 100
Maximum: 500
An order outside that range will not match.
10. Check the Device and Printer
Verify that the rule has a valid:
Device → Printer
assignment.
The selected Device should still exist and the printer should still be reported by the Agent.
11. Check the Device Status
Go to:
Deviking Order Autoprint → Devices
Make sure the selected Device is:
Online
If the Agent is offline, it cannot retrieve jobs.
12. Check the Print Jobs Screen
Go to:
Deviking Order Autoprint → Print Jobs
Search for the order.
If a job exists, the rule probably did trigger and the problem is happening later in the printing process.
Check the job status:
- Pending
- Printing
- Printed
- Failed
- Cancelled
If no job exists, focus on the rule trigger and conditions.
13. Check for Overlapping Rules
An order can match more than one rule.
If several documents are being printed unexpectedly, review other enabled rules with the same trigger.
Priority changes the evaluation order but does not make rules exclusive.
14. Test with a Simple Rule
For troubleshooting, temporarily create or duplicate a simple rule with:
Trigger: Processing
No additional conditions
Known Online Device
Known working Printer
If this rule works, gradually add the conditions back until you identify which condition is preventing the original rule from matching.
15. Check the Agent Activity
Open the Deviking Print Agent and review:
Activity
If the print job reaches the Agent but fails there, the issue is no longer the Print Rule itself.
Check the Agent logs and printer status instead.
16. Confirm the Plugin License
Automatic printing requires an active Deviking Order Autoprint license.
Go to:
Deviking Order Autoprint → License
and confirm that the license is active for the current domain.
17. Test with a New Order
After changing the rule, test it with a new WooCommerce order and move it through the relevant status normally.
This gives the clearest test of the complete automatic workflow.
