How Automatic Printing Works
Deviking Order Autoprint automates the printing process by connecting WooCommerce directly with the Windows Print Agent installed on your computer.
The complete workflow is:
WooCommerce Order → Print Rule → Print Job → Deviking Print Agent → Windows Printer
1. WooCommerce Order Event
The process starts when an order reaches a WooCommerce status used by one of your enabled Print Rules.
For example:
Processing
At that moment, Deviking Order Autoprint checks whether the order matches the conditions defined in the rule.
2. Rule Conditions Are Checked
The plugin can evaluate conditions such as:
- Payment method
- Shipping method
- Product category
- Shipping country
- Shipping state / region
- Minimum order total
- Maximum order total
If the order does not match the rule, no automatic print job is created for that rule.
If it matches, the printing process continues.
3. A Print Job Is Created
The plugin creates a Print Job containing the information needed for printing.
The job includes details such as:
- Order
- Print rule
- Device
- Printer
- Template
- Paper format
- Copies
- Print settings
The job is stored in WooCommerce until the Agent processes it.
4. The Print Agent Retrieves the Job
The Deviking Print Agent continuously checks the connected WooCommerce websites for new print jobs.
The Agent uses outbound HTTPS communication.
This means you do not need to configure:
- Port forwarding
- Incoming firewall rules
- A public IP address
The Agent connects to WooCommerce, not the other way around.
5. The Job Is Assigned to One Agent
When the correct Agent receives the job, it securely claims it.
This prevents the same print job from being processed simultaneously by multiple Agents.
6. The Document Is Generated
The order is rendered using the selected Print Rule configuration.
This can include:
- Selected template
- Customer information
- Products
- Totals
- Notes
- Logo and business details
- Custom text
- Footer
- Paper size
- Margins
- Number of copies
The final output depends on the settings of the Print Rule.
7. The Agent Sends It to Windows
The Agent sends the document to the selected Windows printer.
The printer can be:
- USB
- Network
- Wi-Fi
- A4
- A5
- 80mm thermal
- 58mm thermal
The printer must already be installed and available in Windows.
8. Print Job Status Is Updated
After processing, the Print Job receives a status such as:
- Pending
- Printing
- Printed
- Failed
- Cancelled
This makes it possible to see what happened to every print request.
9. Failed Jobs
If printing fails, the job is recorded as failed.
Depending on the situation, the system can retry failed jobs and administrators can also manually:
- Retry the job
- Reassign it to another printer
- Cancel it
10. Printer Failover
If a Print Rule has a fallback printer configured, the system can use it when the primary Agent or printer remains unavailable for the configured period.
This allows printing to continue without manually changing the rule.
11. Multiple Rules for the Same Store
A WooCommerce store can use several Print Rules at the same time.
For example:
Rule 1
Processing orders → Warehouse A4 printer
Rule 2
Food category orders → Kitchen 80mm printer
Rule 3
Cash on Delivery orders → Office printer
This allows different departments to receive the documents they need automatically.
12. Multiple Sites and Agents
A licensed WooCommerce website can use multiple Agents and printers.
At the same time, one Windows Agent can connect to multiple licensed WooCommerce websites.
Each site maintains its own secure connection and print jobs.
No Third-Party Printing Platform
The printing path remains:
Your WooCommerce Store → Deviking Print Agent → Your Printer
There is no third-party cloud printing platform processing every print job and no per-print charge.
