Using A4 and A5 Printers

Deviking Order Autoprint supports standard page printers using A4 and A5 paper formats.

These formats are suitable for order sheets, packing documents, delivery notes and other full-page WooCommerce documents.

1. A4 Printing

A4 is the most common format for office and warehouse printing.

Typical uses include:

  • Standard Order
  • Packing List
  • Delivery Note
  • Customer Receipt
  • Internal order documents

When creating or editing a Print Rule, select:

Paper Format → A4

The document will then be generated for A4 paper.

2. A5 Printing

A5 can be used when you want a more compact printed document.

Typical uses include:

  • Smaller order sheets
  • Compact packing documents
  • Internal preparation slips
  • Reduced-size delivery documents

Select:

Paper Format → A5

inside the Print Rule.

3. Printer Configuration in Windows

The physical printer must support the selected paper format.

Before using A4 or A5 printing, make sure the correct paper size is available in the Windows printer settings.

For example:

Windows Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Printers & scanners → Printer preferences

The exact menu can vary depending on the printer driver.

4. Paper Size Must Match the Printer

The format selected in Deviking Order Autoprint should match the paper actually loaded in the printer.

For example:

  • A4 rule → A4 paper
  • A5 rule → A5 paper

Using a different paper size may result in scaling, clipping or incorrect margins depending on the printer driver.

5. Orientation

For supported document formats, you can also configure the page orientation.

Available options may include:

  • Portrait
  • Landscape

Portrait is normally recommended for standard order documents.

Landscape can be useful when a document contains wider tables or additional columns.

6. Margins

You can adjust document margins inside the Print Rule.

Margins control the space between the page edge and the printed content.

If text appears too close to the edge or is being clipped, increase the margins.

7. Printer Driver Scaling

Some Windows printer drivers can automatically resize documents.

For predictable output, avoid unnecessary driver-side scaling where possible.

Settings such as:

  • Fit to page
  • Shrink to printable area
  • Custom zoom

may change the final document size.

8. Multiple Page Printers

Different Print Rules can use different page printers.

For example:

Packing List
Warehouse PC → A4 Printer

Delivery Note
Office PC → A5 Printer

Each rule keeps its own printer and paper configuration.

9. Test Before Using Automatically

After configuring a new A4 or A5 printer, run a test print and confirm:

  • The correct paper size is used
  • The document fits correctly
  • Margins are acceptable
  • Text and tables are readable
  • No content is clipped

Once the output is correct, the printer is ready for normal automatic or manual printing.
